I like the way the battlefield is described so sweepingly, across the riverbeds and stony plains. There’s a famous book called “The Face of Battle” by John Keegan. It’s a very compelling book. It’s a psychological study of warfare in different time periods. I’ve been meaning to revisit it. I read it back in 1996.
